Comics contest
15 June 2009GSC Game World together with the magazine "К9" — the leading picture story magazine in CIS, announces the beginning of a contest for comics based on the computer game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Anyone can participate in the contest, no matter the age or professional education.
If you have a tale of the difficult life of a stalker and want to tell it in pictures, even black and white, join our comics contest!
Submission requirements:
Works consisting of 2 to 5 strips are accepted (a strip is a page of drawn story).
Strip size: 24 cm long. 24x17 cm recommended
Resolution: 300 dpi or 2008x2835 in pixels, with the longer side of the image not exceeding 3540 px.
File format: JPG.
JPG compression quality 8 (80%).
Colour scheme: RGB.
File name: English only, no spaces.
By convention: file_name_strip_number.jpg
Comic pages are sorted by file name. Make sure to correctly name files to keep the intended order.
For example, say you are sending a four-strip comic "Journey into the Zone". You get 4 files: journey_into_the_zone_01.jpg, journey_into_the_zone_02.jpg, journey_into_the_zone_03.jpg, journey_into_the_zone_04.jpg.
Each individual file should not exceed 3 MB.
Send complete contest entries by email to [email protected]. You can also mail your entries in the classic format, on paper of size A4 or A3 to: Ukraine, Kiev, 03067, Br. Lepse 4, GSC Game World, marked "For the Comics Contest".
Winners will get valuable prizes. The list of prizes we will announce later.
Contest deadline
Send your submissions until August 31, 2009. Results will be announced within a month after the submission deadline.
Winners will be decided by a competent panel, including:
- Ilia Tolmachev. Art director of GSC Game World.
- Olga Kujel. PR manager of GSC Game World.
- Alexey Olin. Main editor of the K9 Magazine.
- Viacheslav Pashuk. One of the leading Ukrainian comic artists.
- Maxim Novah. Director of the publishing house "Ninth World".
- Alexey Rodenko. Ukrainian artist, illustrator.
The committee reserves the right to remove a submission from the contest in case of:
- Doubt in the submission's authorship.
- Submission's failure to comply with the technical requirements or the theme of the contest.
